ECOFORLEADERS IN KINSHASA
ECOFORLEADERS is a private post-graduate institute created in 2016 and on 14.11.2017 after a careful analysis of the results of a sociological, anthropological and political survey, initiated by the Political Movement for Unity, a branch of the Focolare Movement
ECOFORLEADERS has two objectives:
1. To create networks of actors: unifying, non-corruptible and non-tribalist leaders
2. To create a laboratory of Congolese thought bringing together all stakeholders
The students are active in several sectors: economy, justice, politics, religion, communication, medicine, education, sociology, ecology, engineering, art and sport.
INAUGURATION ECOFORLEADERS
ECOFORLEADERS aims to be above all a life experience and an interdisciplinary space for dialogue and dialectical synergy between differences.
It organises and provides an intellectual and practical background essentially in leadership of unity for the construction of a more inclusive society, of a people committed to the values of co-responsibility, excellence, integrity, dialogue, acceptability… Because there is an urgent need for unifying leaders, people of influence trained and possessing the essential skills in leadership of unity for the construction of a more inclusive community dynamic and federating the common good.
This culture, since it is a question of making culture, is rooted in the spirituality of unity advocated by Chiara Lubich, founder of the Focolare Movement. It is a response to the cancer that is eating away at the DRC and other countries: the division that weakens states. The real problem is in the people.
ECOFORLEADERS offers a two-year Master’s degree in Leadership of Unity for university graduates.
This Master has 3 specialisations:
1. MEDIATION TECHNIQUES AND CONFLICT RESOLUTION IN ORGANISATIONS IN THE AFRICAN CONTEXT
2. LEADERSHIP FOR SOCIAL CHANGE
3. ELECTION, GOVERNANCE AND DEMOCRACY
ECOFORLEADERS also organises a certified modular training.
Since 2019, there is a pedagogical collaboration with the University Institute Sophia (Italy), “TOGETHER FOR A NEW AFRICA”, in which ECOFORLEADERS’ learners participate effectively.
The trainee goes through these 3 phases:
- Phase of “dismantling the old mentality and freeing oneself from the counter-productive legacy”
- Phase of “acquiring a new mindset”
- The “landing and getting to know the terrain” phase.
